The Origin of the God Eater,
Saioh Otomah
By Zachary Wright
In
the beginning of time, there were two gods. One was Anyes, the creator of life
and peace. The other was her twin sister Nemesis, the god of revenge and the
bringer of destruction. When she saw her twin sister creating creatures to
bring unlimited death and plague to the world, Anyes sealed Nemesis away inside
her Grimoire. However before being sealed away in the most legendary jewel
created, Nemesis scattered five powers across the plane of existence in hopes
that one day her dream of annihilation would come to fruition.
One
of these powers was the ability to negate other abilities and put gods on equal
footing as the user. However, the first user could not control this power and
such gave into the monster in his head and became an uncontrollable cannibal.
This power was later called the God Eater because of its primal nature that
turned animalistic if unchecked. However because this power belongs in the
cycle of essence, it cannot be contained or destroyed. Only rebirthed from one
cycle to another. The God Eater has only appeared three times in the history of
the world. The first was 5,000 BC, the second was 1 AD, and then there is the
present. This power is drawn to a child birthed from two very powerful beings,
people with special essence.
Saioh’s
father was Ryusai Otomah, also called Painkiller for his ability to manipulate
pain. He is also the leader as well as the strongest member of the prophecies
or rejected kings. Saioh’s mother was Marbaline Otomah, the leader of the light
brigade. Both were two young people in love and were very happy with their
lives. Unfortunately their lives were shifted in a dark direction when an
incident occurred that would force a blood battle between the Prophecies and
The Light Brigade. Torn about how they would continue their lives like this,
they decided to part ways and gave their only son off to a childhood friend of
Marbaline’s that no one was aware of. Afterward, they torched their old house
and injured each other so that neither faction would ask questions. Little did
they know that a dark essence had made its way into Saioh at birth.
Fast
forward about 16 years to the day when Saioh was on the ground, unable to stop
a girl he barely knew from dying right in front of him. In the last moment,
Saioh’s power were finally awoken and as such the world shook as the God Eater
made it’s epic return.
